Imagine waking up easily and naturally, without having to be jolted awake with the noise of an alarm clock. Philips Wake-up Lights are designed to do just that! Philips Wake-up Light is ideal for anyone who finds it difficult to get up in the morning, especially in the dark winter months. Its gradual sunrise starts from red, through orange to yellow, and eases you awake, gently and naturally, just like a summer’s dawn. Just in case, there’s a choice of bird songs to gently complete your wake up routine. As an added feature, there’s a Sunset mode too, to help you drift off to sleep naturally too. Wake-up feeling fresh and energetic – just as nature intended!
At this moment in time the Philips wake-up light is the only one scientifically proven to work. In order to make the Wake-up Light the best possible product it can be in genuinely waking you up naturally and energised we have done a lot of clinical research. This research was conducted by independent science facilities to study and prove the effects of the wake-up light on the overall wake-up experience. This way we have proven, among other things, that the Philips Wake-up Light not only wakes you more naturally, but also more energised and that it improves your mood in the morning.

No way to adjust the strong brightness of the time. It is way too bright in the dark. It is a pity!

I previously had a Lumie alarm which I used religiously throughout the winter, it definitely made getting up much easier, and banished much of the morning grump. However I had one massive issue, the display screen on it was so bright, even when it dimmed while the alarm was set, and very blue! It was keeping me awake and disturbing me, and there was no amount of covering it up I could do, the light leaked out from everywhere. So this winter I’d survived without my daylight alarm and it was getting harder and harder. So when this one came up with a good offer I went for it, hoping that I wouldn’t suffer the same issues. It has some quirks, like you have to have an alarm “noise” but you can get round this by reducing the volume down to one and tuning the radio to static, honestly I’ve never noticed it making a noise. The clock face is always on too, however again you can reduce the brightness and it’s a minimal orange glow that neither myself or my partner notice during the night. The whole product is simple to use and intuitive, I like that I can set the brightness of the light, turn it off and that’s the brightest the alarm reaches. I love that the buttons only light up when your hand is close by and they quickly dim again. I love the shape and design too.I have found myself using this as a bed side light far more than I ever did my Lumie, the light is softer. I also like that the light stays on until you turn it off, I was often plunged into darkness while doing my make up or getting dressed as I’d forgotten the Lumie turns off after 30 mins. All in all much prefer this to the basic Lumie models, and it’s doing a fab job.

Sconsiglio.. arrivata con presa inglese e non funzionante, davvero non quello che mi aspettavo

I’ve now owned this clock for just over 3 months (over the cold, dark wintery months!), and I absolutely love it! It gets me up in the morning, and it’s easy enough for me to change the alarm times (I wake up between 5am-9am during the week, depending on my schedule).Pros:Sunrise simulation really gets me out of bed. It’s a great bedside light as well.Radio. I haven’t used the inbuilt sounds, so I don’t know how they sound. I have, however, previously owned alarm clocks with the annoying beep-beep-beep and a radio is so much nicer.Able to turn down the clock face brightness. It has 3 settings for brightness (I think) – bright, medium and dim. I prefer medium (since I can barely see dim in the daylight), but I can see why people might find it annoying to see red light in the dark.Cons:Touch-screen buttons on the face. They’re not always that sensitive, and when you’re half-asleep, you can really easily push another button.Snooze function. According to the manual, it’s something like to slapping the disc on the top. I’ve only ever had it work once, but every other time my sleepy self has attempted to snooze this alarm clock, it hasn’t worked. I guess this depends on whether you think snoozing should be easy or difficult (to try and get you out of bed).Lack of multiple alarm times. You can only set one alarm time, and adjust that one according to what you want for tomorrow.Alarm/Clock setting. It’s a little silly, to have just + and – buttons to set time, rather than a dedicated Hour and Minute button, since you have to hold on to either button to scroll through 24h time. It does speed up though, as you scroll through..I’m glad I bought this, since I don’t mind the time changing annoyance, or the difficulty in snoozing (I need to get up when I set that alarm, so snoozing is bad!). The sunrise simulation, coupled with the radio, pretty much sealed the deal for me.
