Absolutely Perfect!!!
If you are looking for a superb kitchen scale you have just found it. I bought this scale 5 years ago from Amazon and kept meaning to write a review. I use my scale at least once every single day, and 3 times or more most days. It is a real workhorse in a slim and sleek body. Despite the amount of use it gets here, it works today every bit as good as it did on day 1. I have only had to replace the batteries twice in all this time. The print out is large, lighted, and so easy to read. It’s easy to clean — just a quick wipe each time I use it, and it takes up very little space on my counter and can easily moved to whatever counter you need it — near the sink, near the stove, etc. Every so often you come upon something that really deserves a shout out. It’s incredibly reliable and I could not live without it. 😌

Nice scale, accurate and easy to use. I tried a couple different scales before deciding on this one. I found this one to be the most accurate with a large and bright display with nice color options. I like how long the display is on before it turns off, others turned off too fast. It’s easy to use and there is a large flat surface to put items on to weigh. I find myself using the scale more and more especially since recipes are starting to show ingredients in grams. I would definitely recommend this one!

Pretty pleased with scale. Been trying to watch our diet but either hungry or over-full and come to find out what we thought was a serving of fruit was either double what we require or not enough to gain nutritional value caused us to snack a lot between meals and it wrecked the waist line! Very pleased and feeling better each day as pounds are coming off.

very good scale for the most part
I’ve been using the Nicewell scale for five years now. My wife and I weigh all of our meal portions to track nutrition. I use it weekly for bread ingredients. I’ve abandoned dry “cup” measurements… all of the cooking and serving in my kitchen is based on grams [I am native to USA but abhor imperial measurements e.g. pounds/ounces].There are a few concerns with this scale.1. The capacitive electronic touch buttons are very sensitive. For example when weighing salad ingredients, if a piece of lettuce or spinach falls on one of the buttons then the scale usually reacts (off, tare, or change units), it will definitely react if I touch any part of the lettuce. I realize that this is a side effect of the liquid spill-proof design of the working surface.2. The weighing mechanism depends on all four feet touching a totally flat hard surface. I assume that each of the four feet is a little weight sensor and all four weights are added together. My main preparation area is a 50-year old butcher block counter, I’ve learned that there is one corner flat enough for the scale. I also prepare on an antique Mid-century-modern chrome-leg formica-top dining table. There’s a couple of locations on the table where the scale functions without errors. I’ve learned to always press opposite diagonal corners to feel if there is any wobble. Even a crumb under one foot will result in measuring errors.3. The scale has a slight delay to “settle” on weight. I assume this is a side-effect of the electronics summing the weights on the four feet under the scale.4. The auto-off is like most scales, but it is still a source of anxiety. I’ve learned to “tag-up” by touching Tare before every measurement. It seems that touching Tare will reset the auto-off countdown. (I really wish these scales didn’t have auto-off; I can easily turn off manually after every use. If the designer really thinks auto-off is a requirement, then they should reset the auto-off countdown every time the weight changes i.e. start the countdown when the scale is idle). I generally turn off manually every time because I know that the backlight is a relatively large energy user.In spite of my concerns about this scale, it is very usable and useful. I’ve shopped around but cannot find a better portable kitchen scale for metric weight.

Excellent Scale
Excellent scale. Accurate, and very easy to use. Also, it is reasonably priced, and it uses standard AA batteries, which is much better than using exotic batteries. Am very pleased with this scale.

A great scale at a great price!
This is the second scale I have bought of this model. The first one was purchased a couple years ago but had issues out of the box and was replaced right immediately, thanks to great customer service from Nicewell.I got the latest one to keep from moving the first scale from the kitchen to the shop and back. It works well and the batteries seem to last forever. The new one is in black and looks even nicer than the silver one. For the weight range and price, I have no complaints at all. I highly recommend this for any use in the kitchen. For the shop, the range is occasionally not enough, but that doesn’t happen often.

Great scale
Super easy to use, love you can put a container, weigh it, then erase container and add food to said container and it automatically figures food without the container included. Cleans easily as well. Super easy to digital display.

I never thought I would ever need a scale like this but I have changed my mind. In my older years now that I have been home from work, I decided that I was capable of baking a few things. Sort of pretending I was Martha Stewart. Lol. As I watched some of the videos online and printing out some recipes, I realized that it’s not that easy to measure out tablespoons of butter or ounces of something else. I watched as some experts online just used a scale and I saw how simple it was so I decided to buy a scale and wow! It made things so simple. It really is a very useful scale. And so far it’s been a very good scale. You won’t have regrets buying it.
